Nolvadex-D is an effective medication used to treat a variety of different types of breast cancer, including breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Tamoxifen works by blocking estrogen receptors in the brain, which can slow down or even stop the growth of certain types of breast cancer. The medication is also effective in preventing the recurrence of early-stage breast cancer in hormone receptor-positive early-stage breast cancer patients who have not yet finished their treatment. Nolvadex-D is also prescribed for the treatment of certain types of certain cancers, including advanced or recurring locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.
Nolvadex, like any medication, can cause side effects. Some of these side effects may go away as you get used to the medication. Others may go away as you get used to the medication. Most side effects go away when you stop taking Nolvadex. However, if they do, they may decrease in intensity or frequency. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if these side effects bother you or do not go away.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any drugs that are known to cause these side effects. Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) is not approved to treat breast cancer, but it may be used for a certain medical condition. Nolvadex can also cause men to be more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than women. You should not use Nolvadex if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. Nolvadex can also be harmful to an unborn baby if you are breast-feeding. Talk to your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or plan to breast-feed. You should not breast-feed while you are using Nolvadex.

Tell your healthcare provider about any prescription, over-the-counter, herbal, or recreational drugs you are using (including non-prescription and non-herb-based drugs). They may need to change the dosage of Nolvadex or to stop taking it.
Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning on becoming pregnant. Nolvadex may affect the way your liver works. It should not be taken during pregnancy. It is not known if Nolvadex is excreted in breast milk.

If you miss a dose of Nolvadex, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double doses to make up for a missed one.
Symptoms of overdoses of Nolvadex may include hallucinations, severe vomiting, severe dizziness, severe tremors, fainting, seizures, coma, and death. It is important to tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
Do not use Nolvadex to treat other types of breast cancer. It may increase the risk of breast cancer. If you take the medicine without first checking with your healthcare provider for the most up-to-date information, it may not be the right medication for you. Ask your healthcare provider about Nolvadex. Do not use Nolvadex to treat breast cancer that is not treated with tamoxifen.
Symptoms of an overdose may include severe drowsiness, tremors, fainting, seizures, or coma. If you suspect an overdose, contact your healthcare provider immediately. Symptoms may include chest pain, fast heartbeat, dizziness, or fainting.
Call your healthcare provider right away if you experience any of these symptoms.
If you accidentally ingest a medicine containing Nolvadex, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms may include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, sweating, and muscle pain.

Objectives:To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of nolvadex in premenopausal and postmenopausal women with breast cancer to evaluate its safety and effectiveness in premenopausal and postmenopausal women with gynecomastia.
Methods:A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted using five search databases and an electronic search of the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and PsycINFO databases from January 2005 to February 2010. The primary outcome was the proportion of women experiencing adverse reactions to nolvadex compared to placebo. Secondary outcomes included incidence of adverse reactions, number of adverse reactions, and percentage of adverse reactions. The meta-analysis included trials with 8 or more articles in which nolvadex was compared with placebo in premenopausal and postmenopausal women with breast cancer, and a total of 7 or more articles were included.
